How to Save $1500 & Make Your Own Drink Cooler

How to Save $1500 & Make Your Own Drink Cooler

How to Save $1500 & Make Your Own Drink Cooler

One of the nicest things about DIY is the savings. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on furniture, you can make your own and use that money on something more important like for your kid’s education, a business venture, or an investment plan.

Take this cooler stand for example. It’d cost you over $1500 if you choose to buy it in your local home improvement store. But if you make your own, you’ll only need to shell out less than $150. That’s $1350 savings! How great is that?

The author of the post provides a breakdown of the materials needed including the price for each (just in case you don’t believe that it’s this cheap). According to the post, the cooler stand is made from cedar decking which makes it lightweight. Although it might not seem like it, but this cooler is very portable.

This cooler stand is perfect for those barbecue parties in your backyard, whether you love throwing parties for your friends or you prefer nice and quiet picnic lunches with your family.

If you’re thinking of making this DIY project, start  by gathering the things that you’ll need, which include cedar decking, cooler, water seal, handle, lid support, piano hinge, bottle opener, glue, screws, tin and biscuits.

It’d take about two days to finish the whole thing. The first day would be for construction, and the second for sanding and finishing. You can also paint the cooler if you like.

You might want to make it a family DIY project, and have the kids help you paint the surface. You can even have them draw and color funny characters on the surface of the cooler stand to give it a unique personality.

Here’s to more outdoor fun with family and friends with this cool cooler idea!
