So how do you like the look of your garden? Is it pretty enough for you? If it is but still you feel like something’s missing, like it’s lacking in visual interest, why don’t you try making DIY planters?

A good example would be this repurposed red wagon from Home Talk. The wagon was turned into a cute flower planter. To make it even more attractive, the author also put a trellis backdrop leaning against the wall, and a cute little bird feeder as well. Put the same things in one corner of your garden, and expect the whole place to instantly brighten up.

If you don’t have a wagon right now that you can use for this project, don’t worry. There are many other things lying around in your home that can be transformed into an eye-catching flower planter.

Some examples include:

  • Mason jars
  • Shoe racks
  • Dressers
  • Tires
  • Pallets
  • Kettles
  • Pots and pans
  • Flower vases
  • Plastic bottles
  • Coconut husks
  • Mail boxes
  • Shells
  • Paint cans
  • Bowls and plates
  • Coffee mugs
  • Strainers
  • And so many more!!

Fact is, you never again have to buy flower planters. Simply keep your eyes open and look around inside your home, and you’re bound to find a lot of materials that you can use for your garden.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that these things would make your garden look tacky. If you’re creative and resourceful enough, you can transform even an unsightly bunch of old tires or a worn out dresser into a lovely addition to your garden.

Best of all, there are plenty of tutorials online that you can use for these varied projects. Some are simple enough for you to figure out on your own while others, you might need a little help to get them done.
