How to Make a Matchstick Cross

Can’t wait to get started on your next DIY project? Here’s an idea that would get your crafty hands busy. This wooden matchstick star project takes only a few hours to make. You’ll need the following materials and tools: kitchen matches, all purpose glue, spray sealant, rag, metal yardstick, and scissors or crafts knife.

First, you need to cut out a cardboard backing. Do so by downloading the matchstick star pattern and printing it out on paper, which you’ll then tape onto the cardboard backing. Cut the template with scissors or crafts knife.

Next, prepare the matchsticks by burning them to create a charred tone a little over beyond the tip. Then work on to assemble the star, attaching each one with glue onto the cardboard template. For the full tutorial, check out the post below.

Loved your matchstick cross; is it possible to send me how to draw the star template or something please. Always redirects me to Lowes building site which doesn’t have a thing about this and if you have any other matchstick craft ideas, that would be great or even if you would happen to know where or you might have log cabin projects made from craft sticks.

I use to have all sorts of plans using craft sticks to make everything with from log cabins to bowls and lamps but they all got burnt in a fire a few years ago, so everything was lost, if you could help in any way with the matchstick cross and other projects or like I asked; craft stick projects would be so great please and thank you.

      Hi Bear L

When you follow on through to the original site, there are photos and instructions there. What we do is recommend amazing finds which we discover on the web and recommend it to our readers. However, as per your request, I will be sure to look for more crafts including matchsticks etc.
